There is a clearing in the wood, and while the eye traces the shadow’s entanglement upon the undisturbed dirt path, we are presented with the trail ahead, reaching to the left until it disappears into the thickness of the trees. Westergren proposes a few layers for a curious eye to capture, for on one hand, we have a seemingly random capture of a nature walk in the woods --- but what can it represent to the person looking between her brush’s impressionism? The trees are not standing still and the branches in a sense, come alive for us, reflecting light upon swiveling leaves as the wind brushes them with its invisible fine toothed comb. Written by M.
